A Very BimmerWorld Christmas
SCCA SPEED World Challenge BMW Touring Car Team spreads the holiday spirit; shares their gift and charity recommendations
DUBLIN, VA (Dec. 18, 2007)

As the racing season winds down into the sole holiday teams make time for, SPEED Touring Car entrant BimmerWorld took a few moments to poll their three drivers on the gifts and charities they’re considering for their own families and friends.

Team owner and driver James Clay knows the need for gadgets to help aid a season full of cross-country travel. “The one thing that is a must for the World Challenge driver or fan on the go is a good set of Sennheiser noise canceling headphones.  They have always been the best for headphones as far as I know, and their models are top of the line in this category.  Really helps out on those long trips across the country that I use to catch up on sleep!”

Another ‘must’ for the World Challenge fan is the new BimmerWorld Team racing jacket—something reserved only for drivers and crew members until now. “We have new jackets for the team this year that we will also be selling to the public for the fist time.  It has a zip-out liner and a waterproof shell, and of course, it comes with the BimmerWorld logo tastefully embroidered.  No other jacket makes you look faster!…” Clay playfully noted.

Seth Thomas, pilot of the #38 BimmerWorld BMW E90, has gaming in mind for the World Challenge fan. “The first item that comes to mind is Forza Motorsports 2 for the Xbox 360. No racing fan should be without a game that has tracks that we race on, and cars that we race with. What else can a World Challenge fan ask for? I hate to give away our secrets, but this is how all the pros practice in the off season!”

New BimmerWorld recruit Nick Esayian has nothing but the pursuit of speed in mind for the racing fan. “First would be a Valentine One radar detector to help you drive in peace anywhere you travel. Next, you need something to travel in style with, so a 2008 BMW M3 is a natural fit. Now that you have the car and something to keep the police from giving you tickets, a proper pair of driving shoes are in order. Buy yourself some Piloti’s, and you’ll have the complete holiday driving package. How you fit the M3 under the Christmas tree is up to you…” offered Esayian.

Gifts aside, the BimmerWorld team has two charities they personally support, and encourage fans to consider when spreading good deeds over the holidays. Esayian was quick to offer his choice. “I recommend to all my family, friends, and supporters to visit http://www.specialops.org/. The site is home to the Special Forces Warrior Foundation. They’re celebrating their 25th anniversary of providing college tuition to the children of fallen Special Forces personnel. Supporting the troops is important to all of us, and supporting the children of our fallen troops is a legacy we can all help seed by donating to http://www.specialops.org/.”

James Clay and Seth Thomas are both ardent supporters of the Special Forces Warrior Foundation, and have a second charity they proudly promote, http://www.wheelchairfoundation.org/. “The Wheel Chair Foundation is dedicated to delivering a wheelchair to every child, teen or adult in the world that needs, but can’t afford one,” Thomas said. “You can’t go wrong with SpecialOps or WheelChair Foundation--one offers support to our troops, and one gives to people who are in need of mobility.”
